What do you think of when you think of family? For me, it's my parents, my extended family, and close friends.
I would like to share one of my favorite memories with my family that happened around this time last year. My parents had their 25th anniversary so I decided to arrange a surprise party.
Firstly, I knew the surprise had to include food because we are an eating family. I made a reservation at Carmine's, which is a delicious Italian restaurant with locations in New York and one in Atlantic City.
I also arranged for my family from New York and Maryland to come to the table and surprise my parents at Carmine's once we arrived.
When it all came together, I looked around the table. What I saw was a group of people who were all so different eating, laughing, smiling, and living.
Why am I posting all about family this week? It hasn't been an easy week; most of my family and close friends know.
This week has been tough and full of challenges that come up when dealing with life. I needed to rely on my family more than ever this week.
Believe me, we are definitely not perfect. We are definitely not The Brady Bunch, even though I used to imagine being Jan Brady.
In all seriousness, what makes a family is love, understanding, and being there for each other. That's why all families look so different from one another.
Your family can be include your blood family, your friend family, your fitness family, your work family, and the list goes on.
Comment below if you would like to share who your family is and what they mean to you. Let's take time to appreciate who brings us through the rough and celebrates us through the joy.
