Wine & Dine

My family and close friends call me a lush. I call myself a wine enthusiast.

My personal favorite wines are all the reds. From Malbec to Pinot Noir, I am that girl who goes out for dinner and feels obligated to order a red wine.

I already know you are questioning what red wine has to do with health; let's get to what red wine is good for.

Red wine is filled with antioxidants, which help in having clear and healthy skin. Antioxidants are also good for diminishing wrinkles and signs of aging.

A specific antioxidant in red wine is resveratrol, which is particularly good for the heart. Resveratrol has been proven to reduce blood clots and inflammation that lead to heart disease.

The best part about resveratrol is it has been proven to block fat cell growth. I was completely floored when I read this in an article on Prevention Magazine's website.

Last but not least, red wine tastes really good! There are so many varieties that you can try to compliment many meals. I suggest trying new ones as you go. Malbec is one that I drink only with pasta dishes, and Merlot is one that I love paired with dark chocolate.

Let's keep in mind that we still need to drink red wine in moderation to experience the benefits. I try to limit myself to two glasses.

I don't know about you but I cannot wait to drink my wine tonight and know I am fighting fat cells at the same time. Now we can fully enjoy a glass.. or two... of red wine!
